Standards Germany, Switzerland and Austria
VDI 2035 / SWKI BT 102-01 / H öNORM IN 5195-1

Technical water must meet technical standards of manufacturers, engineers and professional associations in its chemical and physical properties.

Due to its flexible use and the high technical standards technical water in its chemical and physical properties of a whole series must conform to requirements and standards. These standards are jointly set and developed by manufacturers, engineers and professional associations. Elysator is always willing to meet all these requirements as possible.

These standards make all those involved everyday life much easier and the process as smooth as possible. Thanks to these standards increases on the one hand, the availability of technical components, they can be used to significantly reduce the cost of production, through the increasing of energy-efficient working is possible and they grant full warranty and consumer protection.

From one country to another very special conditions apply, which are stated and explained below.

Germany (VDI 2035, sheet 1 & 2)

The guidelines contained in the VDI 2035 are set by the Association of German Engineers. There, the VDI 2035 sheet 2 set guidelines sent to hot-water heating systems according to EN 12828 and is strong evidence to avoid damage due to corrosion. Sheet 1 of VDI 2035 includes comprehensively with the scale formation in heating systems.

Responsibility

It is the task of planning to ensure that the guideline required in VDI 2035 are reached in the heating water and met during commissioning. The parameters of the commissioning must be documented in a special banking book from this point. This goes with the handover from the planner or installer to the operator of the system and should be managed further by the operator. Therefore, it is easy to discover negative developments to counteract them and to eliminate the causes.

With Elysator it is easy to match with VDI 2035.

Values

In the VDI 2035 distinguishes exactly between a low-salt and a saline operation. Since the probability and severity of damage depends on corrosion even after the conductivity of the heating water and decreases with this, the low-salt operation in practice is generally preferred and, if possible, advised. Basic requirement of a low-salt operation is a comprehensive demineralization of the heating water. The values of the water must be less than 100 µS/cm. The oxygen content must not exceed 0.1 mg / l and the pH value must be 8.2 to 10.0.

According to VDI 2035 sheet 2, the addition of chemicals should be restricted to exceptions. It is advisable to work without chemicals.

ELYSATOR system solutions make such work efficiently, cost-effective and feasible in accordance with their own possibilities and needs.

Warranty of the guarantee period of the heating system

In order to maintain the warranty on components and equipment used, most manufacturers require compliance with those standards. Non-compliance is often construed as improper operation.

Elysator offers with its system solutions simple and flexible solutions to meet the conditions for this warranty.

Analyses

Before first use, it is the responsibility of the installer or planner in accordance with VDI 2035 sheet 1 to determine the hardness of the water and note in the banking book.

A first follow-up check should be done after 8 to 12 weeks by the operator or an authorized representative and be carried out no later than the annual maintenance in accordance with VDI 2035 sheet 2.

With the measuring computer and the analysis case of Elysator it is always possible to identify and capture these values accurately.

Switzerland (SWKI BT 102-01)

This requirement for heating water enacted by the Swiss Association for Building and engineers. It is valid 1 April 2014 and includes new, more stringent regulations. These relate in particular to the quality of the filling water for heating systems with hot water. Only if these standards are complied, the suppliers are obliged to take over guarantees. The compliance of those standards guarantees the longevity of heating systems.

With Elysator it is easy to match these standards.

Responsibility

According to SIA 384/1 and the Guidelines in the SWKI BT 102-01 is responsible for the quality of the filling water of a hot water heating system only the entrepreneur or operator. It is true that the responsibility devolves to the owner of the heating system with the initial commissioning, but, of course, the heating engineer has to comply with these standards in advance.

Elysator provides for all parties the right solutions to meet these guidelines and to work effortless according to the standards.

Values

The water in the heating system is to have less than 5° f hardness and have a conductivity of less than 200 µS/cm. Any filling water, which is refilled after commissioning must have less than 1° f hardness and less than 100 µS/cm. The heating water must be demineralized in any case. The required pH may be from 8.2 to 10.0 and is reached only 2 - 3 months after filling with fresh water again.

Analyses

The filling water must be analyzed prior to the filling of the system (Art. 5, SWKI BT 102-01).

First check of the pH after 2 months, at the latest when the annual maintenance (Art. 4.2.2 c, SWKI BT 102-01).

The water analysis must be recorded (Art. 5 SWKI BT 102-01).

With the measuring computer and the analysis case of Elysator it is always possible to identify and capture these values accurately.

Austria (H öNORM in 5195-1)

This standard for heating water was enacted by the Austrian Standards Institute. It includes stricter rules and defines precise requirements, the establishment and operation of heating water systems. These relate in particular to the quality of the filling water for heating systems with hot water. Only if these standards are complied, the suppliers are obliged to take over guarantees. The compliance of those standards guarantees the longevity of heating systems. The standard deals in particular with the prevention of damage due to corrosion, scale formation and deposits. In general, the standard is aimed at closed heating systems with hot water up to 100° Celsius and is primarily applied for newly established plants.

With Elysator it is easy to match these standards.

Responsibility

The water must be analyzed by the installer prior to filling the system for its suitability.

The operator of a heating system up to 1,500 liters of water has to check the heating water every two years, more than 1,500 liters of water at least once a year.

Values

ÖNORM H 5195-1 sets the limit for the hardness of the filling water, depending on water content and type of the heat source of the heating system. It applies a maximum limit value of less than 30 mg / l for the chlorides, which is why the filling water is demineralized. In the long run, it is the most ecologically and cheapest solution.

When aluminum materials are present, the pH of 8.5 should not be exceeded. If no aluminum materials are present, the pH should be from 8 to 9.5.

Analyses

When working on the heating system, pulling a water loss or a change in the water content according to a check of the heating water is within 4-6 weeks carried out by the operator or to be carried out. The verifier shall inform the operator or the customer commitment to within 4 weeks whether the existing heating water is corrosive or having microbiological growth. The results of the study should be documented in the banking book.

We recommend the heating installers and contractors prior to the handover of the heating system, a check of the circulating water.

With the measuring computer and the analysis case of Elysator it is always possible to identify and capture these values accurately.
